Overview
Construction of the LSEP started in 2018 and the plant is expected to be operational in early 2027.
All of the demolition and remediation works from the old coal-fired power station have been completed, as well as road improvements at King Street and Broken Cross Junction, and a new access road for Tata Chemicals Europe.
LSEP is entering the final phases of construction with major civil engineering works and building assembly works now complete.
The main remaining construction work involves connecting key equipment through pipework, cables, control systems, and building services. We expect the plant to be fully operational in early 2027.
